Galician Hebrew scholar and maskil. He was born in Lemberg. His writings, in Hebrew and Yiddish, include a geography of Palestine and its Jewish inhabitants, Purim plays, and editions of
Mikveh Yisrael by
Manasseh ben Israel and
La-Yesharim Tehillah by
Moses Hayyim Luzzatto. He also published a Yiddish newspaper.
